Land Acknowledgement

Land Acknowledgement for the First Nations of the BC coast

We respectfully acknowledge that the lands and waters we explore and enjoy are the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territories of the Indigenous peoples of the BC Coast. From the northern tip of Haida Gwaii to the southern end of the Salish Sea, these lands and waters have been home to many nations, including the Haida, Tlingit, Tsimshian, Nisga’a, Kwakwaka'wakw, Heiltsuk, Nuxalk, Gitxsan, Haisla, Tla'amin, Sechelt, Squamish, Musqueam, Tsleil-Waututh, Kwikwetlem, Sto:lo, Cowichan Tribes, Snuneymuxw, T'Sou-ke, Ditidaht, Pacheedaht, Tla-o-qui-aht, Nuu-chah-nulth, and many others.

We recognize and honor the enduring presence of these First Nations on these lands and waters since time immemorial, and we acknowledge their ongoing cultural and spiritual connections with these territories, their ancestors, and their cultures. We are grateful for the opportunity to learn from and be inspired by their wisdom, resilience, and stewardship of the land, sea, and sky that sustains us all.
